Singer-Actor Chris Brown has only recently put the legalities of his Rihanna assault charges behind him but may now be in for yet another round of battery charges after an early morning (today at 3:42 am) pick-up basketball game allegedly turned into a brawl and Brown was named as a suspect.
The mishap took place at the Palms Casino Resort where, according to police, Brown was playing basketball and got into an altercation with another player and allegedly clocked the guy in the face. The brawl took place at the Hardwood Suite where Chris was reportedly staying at the time.
The police reportedly have yet to speak with Brown regarding the accusations, but have noted that he has two choices regarding the matter. He can sign a citation for a misdemeanor battery and appear in court to face the charges, or he can wait on the District Attorney to decide to press charges (or not). If so, Brown would receive a summons to appear in court.
The victim asserts that he was also assaulted by another man who was with Brown. Since the police have yet to speak to Brown he is only considered a suspect but could indeed face charges. According to TMZ Brown was also accused of another basketball brawl in Los Angeles this past April. The Hardwood Suite victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
A rep for 25 year-old Brown’s camp told HollywoodLife.com, “…Chris is currently in Las Vegas, as he is performing at Drais on May 5 and receiving a Key to the Strip that day as well. He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person.”
Alrighty then. Has Chris Brown (who reportedly suffers from Bipolar Disorder) unleashed another violent temper tantrum or is someone using his history as fodder for their own personal payday?
