There are times when parents are not all too prepared dealing with newborns who explode in their pants, and that can be quite a nightmare. When a mom opened the changing table to change her baby’s diaper, she was surprised to find a bag with a message. Once she posted her findings on Facebook, they went viral.
In January 2017, Joy Clyde was in the public bathroom of a Target store in Bonney Lake, Washington, and she found a Ziploc bag left on the changing table by a stranger.
The bag contains diapers and wipes for parents to use in case of a messy accident they were unprepared for.
In the note that accompanied the bag, the helpful stranger wrote, “We have all been there: forgot diapers, wipes, and your little one just exploded their pants! Hopefully this helps! Take what you need or leave any extra! Remember, it takes an army to raise children, so let’s all help each other! Love, a mom who has needed help. Many times.”
Clyde snapped a photo of her discovery and posted it on her Facebook.
She wrote, “This was in our local target store and thankfully I didn’t need but thought it was awesome. Good people everywhere.”
Clyde, who has an 18-month-old son, told Scary Mommy, “I thought it was awesome and such a blessing for parents in need.
“I used the family restroom on this occasion and it would have been available for a Mom or Dad in need or even a Grandparent. I have not yet ended up in this particular situation but it would be like receiving a ‘get out of jail free’ card.”
She also clarified that she doesn’t always take photos in public restrooms. “I also don’t take many pictures in public restrooms but wanted to remember it and share the idea with friends and family,” she said.
Clyde’s post has given ideas to other moms who want to do the same sort of thing.
“I’m going to do this. I’ve found myself with a little one who’s gone through the last of our emergency stash on the diaper bag,” one mom wrote.
Another mom commented: “This is awesome! Great message and great purpose! I’m going to do this too!”
Clyde is not the only one who’s met a kindhearted mom. A few other moms have also taken to social media to show photos of their surprising discoveries, like the one below.

Christina Causland found the pile of diapers, wipes, along with a note, on the changing table of a HomeGoods bathroom in Solana Beach, Calif, back in December 2016.
The note, written by a mom named Sarah, read: “I once found myself in this exact same spot with a newborn with a crazy blowout and NO DIAPERS or WIPES. An unmitigated disaster, that was! Just in case you have found yourself in the same sort of pickle, I brought in some wipes and diapers to save the day. Good luck out there! Happy Holidays!”
Causland is not a mother; nonetheless, she was moved by Sarah’s gesture and snapped a photo of the free diapers and wipes to share it to the world. “I don’t know you Sarah, but you’re a gem! #gooddeeds#upworthy #HomeGoods#mademyday,” she wrote on Instagram.
