The U.S. Secret Service reiterated that it “must provide protection” to former presidents amid speculation that former President Donald Trump could be jailed by a New York judge for violating his gag order.

On Monday, Judge Juan Merchan told the former president that if he continues to violate a gag order for speaking about witnesses and other individuals connected to the trial, he could face a jail term.
