Rescued Cat and Dog Become Internet Celebs by Traveling Together
Baloo and Henry, a cat and a dog from Colorado, were both rescued from shelters by Cynthia Bennet and her boyfriend.
The two animals ended up getting along so well that it surprised and delighted the internet and even turned the pair into celebrities on Instagram.
Hi 👋🏼I’m Cynthia ( @ourwildspirits ), Henry + Baloo’s mom! I want to introduce myself with some fun facts. But first THANK YOU all for following our adventures! It means so much to us that so many people care about our little family that we are lucky enough to have ❤ You all make this life possible for us + we are so grateful! • 1. I was THAT horse girl in school 2. I grew up in New Hampshire + Massachusetts 3. Birks + socks are my go-to (try not to judge 😂) 4. One day I plan to have a farm with horses, cows, alpacas, pigs, goats (all pets of course) 5. I have asthma and Henry is always there encouraging me to live the life I want to live because life’s too short not to. 🤙🏼
Henry was adopted into the family prior to Baloo. According to The Dodo, Bennet and her boyfriend were actually thinking of a golden retriever mix—until Henry came up to them, curled up into Bennet’s legs, went belly up and flipped his head over her arm.
And that was the beginning of how Henry joined the adventurous couple’s life and their travels.
I am beyond excited to announce that our print shop @OurWildTails , ourwildtails.com, has launched! Prints and stickers are now available for purchase and we ship internationally! 🙌🏼 Click the link in my bio or go to ourwildtails.com to check it out! Thank you so much for supporting our little family and for giving Henry and Baloo the best possible life. Thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts 💜
Bennet then started thinking about expanding the family with a cat, which would hopefully have a similar spirit of adventure. It took her five months to find Baloo, and it was Henry that truly brought the cat into the gang.
“The moment Baloo met Henry, he loved him—he wanted to play with Henry and snuggle with him,” Bennet told The Dodo.
After that, Baloo seemed to think Henry was his mom, and the cat-and-dog duo became inseparable. Their signature pose is Baloo lounging on Henry’s head, giving him a sweet bear hug.
Bennet also deals with asthma, and she said in an Instagram post that “Henry is always there encouraging me to live the life I want to live because life’s too short not to. 🤙🏼”
