Fort Worth police chased a suspect through multiple counties, according to reports.

The suspect, as CBS DFW reported, was identified as Zachary Medina, who was arrested.

Medina had allegedly stolen a black SUV and was chased down Interstate 30 and Interstate 35 by police before his tires were blown out.

Medina then got out and attempted to run before police took him down, CBS reported.

Fort Worth police spokesman Bradley Perez said that Medina had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation due to a drug charge, the Star-Telegram reported. He was arrested for possessing several grams of methamphetamine at the time.

Additional details about his arrest were not made available.

The black SUV was reported stolen by Eva Medina, the mom of the suspect, the CBS affiliate reported. She said he appeared to be on drugs when she spotted him taking off in the vehicle.

Medina then called her, saying he was being chased by police. Eva Medina said she told him to stop, but he said he didn’t want to, the report stated.

His mother said she was happy to see him under arrest before he hurt himself or others.
