Imura and his wife spent nearly 19 years and almost 18 million Japanese Yen or about 163,000 USD, building the massive miniature model of the Japanese Himeji Castle and was completed in 2007, and it still draws many visitors today.
Visitors call Imura “lord of the castle” and ask if they can take pictures with him. “I am just a master builder,” he says he responds that actually his wife is “the lord of the castle.” as reported by the Japan Times.
