Most of us have had at least one of those days, right? Even if you happen to be on the “Happiest Place on Earth,” sometimes you’re just not in the mood.

At the one-year anniversary of this hilarious photo known as “Angry Splash Mountain Lady,” the husband of the very unhappy camper, Steven Alexander, revealed the story behind the viral photo.

I wouldn’t go on Splash Mountain with my wife.

In the original post, Alexander said he wouldn’t accompany his wife on her favorite ride, Splash Mountain.

Who would have known the infamous woman in this photo is actually a totally lovable lady with a great sense of humor and a beautiful love story?

Arms crossed. Fierce glare. The sass. The disappointment.

Nope, not even once.

It was the end of a long day at Disney World, and when the family finally got to his wife Jordan’s favorite ride, Steve just wasn’t feeling up for it. So she went ahead and rode it anyway just as he suggested, but came back with this photo in her hand, saying, “‘I did this for you!’ We both broke into laughter, hugged and made our way out of the park,” Alexander revealed in a post.

The couple has always shared a lovable sense of humor. Alexander says that’s what has really made them stick together through thick and thin.

“The ability to make each other laugh, even in the difficult times, has been the glue of our relationship,” he said.

“I don’t think I would have survived without her in my life.”

Steven and Jordan met in 2006 while singing karaoke and immediately hit it off, they’ve been inseparable ever since. But about two months into dating, Steve went on dialysis because his transplanted kidney had begun to fail.

The young couple was there for each other every step of the way. Jordan, a nurse who often works 12-hour shifts, would come home to take care of her husband, preparing him for home-dialysis, a four-hour process, for years on end.

“She carried me when I was at my weakest, and believed in me when others told her not to get tied down to someone so sick.”

"A year ago this week, I posted a picture of my wife riding Splash Mountain. She was alone, sitting in the middle of…

Alexander says the post is a love letter to his wife, who has been by his side since the beginning.

They’ve been through a lot together, and without their sense of humor, they have may not have had what they do today, a beautiful happy family with two beautiful children.

“She’s given me life, two beautiful kids, and the greatest life a guy could ever ask for.”

A year after the infamous ‘Angry Splash Mountain Lady’ photo was taken, the adorable family returned to Disney World, and this time Steve went on his wife’s favorite ride.

“The truth is, I’d ride into anything or climb any mountain with and for her.”

The photo was captured on a very significant year for the couple, who had tried to get to Disney World for years but struggled due to Steve’s illness.

“I was often very ill, and travel was something we just couldn’t do. She had hopes to take me to Disney World, as I’d never been before in my life, but we could never make it work. Years later, I got a transplant—and after things settled down, we planned our trip to Disney World!”

It also just happened to capture the couple’s sweet relationship and his wife’s lovable sense of humor perfectly. Alexander added, “Very much so. It’s so funny. You look at the picture and she looks so angry but she is one of the sweetest, kindest and most compassionate and empathetic people I know.”

I guess you really can’t judge a book by its cover.
