A woman was having a hard time and almost lost her faith while trying to pick herself up again when she received a small gift from a stranger. Once she learned the story behind the gift, she became determined to pay it forward.
On Sept. 11, 2018, Cassandra Orozco, of Osceola County in Florida, went to a WAWA gas station to refill her tank and was surprised to find a $25 gift card taped on her gas pump. Orozco couldn’t believe her eyes. Suddenly becoming the beneficiary of a stranger’s act of kindness is just what she needed to restore her faith after losing everything and only having a few dollars left with a 2-year-old to feed.
I am SO overwhelmed with JOY today! I stop to get gas at WAWA & when I get back to my pump this is what I find! At first…
“At first I just didn’t understand why that was stuck to the pump I couldn’t believe that I was receiving such a random act of kindness at a time where I seem to be losing my faith!” she wrote on her Facebook page.
“The angels that walk this earth never fail to amaze me when I need it the most. I don’t know who left it but I wish I could hug them a million times & say thank you because you have restore [sic] my faith not only with GOD but with humanity!”
That morning, Orozco had said a prayer, and hours later, God responded, she told Fox 35.
It turned out that the act of kindness had been performed by Natalie Visage, a mom who had lost her daughter, Eleanor-Josephine, who was stillborn on Sept. 11, 2015.
Not wanting to forget her daughter, Visage decided to do some good deeds in her name, including buying gift cards and honoring first responders.
“We bought some pizza for a local fire station because with it being 9/11, not only is it an important day for me, but it’s also an important day for our country… You hope that by putting kindness out there, it’ll inspire someone else to also put some kindness out there,” Visage said.
“To be blessed by someone who doesn’t want anything in return,” Orozco said. “It is amazing, ya know? I want Eleanor-Josephine’s memory to live on forever.”
Having been touched by this act of kindness, Orozco now wants to pay it forward when she has the ability to do it.
It’s always nice to see how such a simple kind act can mean so much.
