This young boy is being hailed as a hero after he took action to alert his family to a house fire, as shown in the video below.

Nine-year-old Tahjdon Moyler, from Williamsburg, Virginia was at home on Saturday, May 27, 2017, when he smelled something funny and decided to investigate, according to WTKR.

When he peeked in the kitchen, he found out a fire had started and was growing fast. The little boy immediately ran out of the house to tell his grandmother, who was talking to two neighbors.

All four of them ran back inside the house to get Tahjdon’s grandfather, who was ill and lying in bed. The neighbors even attempted to put out the fire and suffered a few small burns as a result. Fortunately, everyone made it out on time.

According to Liftable, Tahjdon’s mother was overjoyed and very proud of him when she heard what had happened.

“I’m so happy he responded on time. He didn’t think twice,” she said.

As for Tahjdon, he realizes what could have happened if he hadn’t acted fast.

“I needed to do the right thing,” he said.
