The holiday season is always a special time, as Christmas and other holidays bring everyone together closer than usual. People are always trying to surprise their loved ones with precious gifts, so this seemed like the perfect time for Barry Clarke to get even closer with his family.

Barry and Suzanne, a couple from Dublin, Ireland, have been dating for over 10 years and have a 2-year-old son together.

While some couples go the entirety of their relationship without getting married, Barry thought it was the right time to take the next step.

It was time to propose to Suzanne, and on video, no less. Barry had this year’s Santa visit all planned out.

The video shows Barry and Suzanne sitting with Santa with their son, Cameron. Santa was handing Cameron a bunch of toys to play with, much to the toddler’s delight. When Suzanne moved her son to sit on the ground, Santa asked her a question in regards to her boyfriend.

“Does he behave now?” said Santa, to which Suzanne responded, “Sometimes.” Santa was delighted to hear that Barry would not be on the naughty list this year. Then, Santa told Suzanne that he had another gift to give to the family. But this time, it wasn’t for Cameron.

It was for her.

It looked like and was, a small box. Then, Santa opened it for Suzanne.

Upon realizing what it was, Suzanne was at a loss for words.

Then, Barry got down on one knee, and asked her the question.

And she said yes!

“I thought I would put a special Christmas request into Santa directly,” Barry told the Irish Independent. He had gone to the mall beforehand and asked for them to cooperate with his plan, which thankfully they were happy to do so.

And their son played a pivotal role in the proposal, as well.

“Thanks to Cameron for lying on the floor for the whole thing!” he said in his Facebook post. He also made sure the proposal went off without a hitch.

For Suzanne, who according to her now-fiancé is “Christmas-crazy,” this couldn’t have been a better way to get engaged.

Santa had a very special gift for a special lady today in Arnotts. She didn't have a clue! Anyhow, she said Yes! Thanks to Claire and the staff in Arnotts for arranging and keeping this a secret. Thanks to Santa for playing a stormer and thanks to Cameron for lying on the floor for the whole thing!
