A group of members of a sailing club rescued a Labrador puppy in the middle of the sea in the Gulf of Naples.
“We approached, we were sailing and maneuvering was not easy,” the club’s director Massimiliano Cappa told La Repubblica. “He was visibly exhausted, his legs almost paralyzed by the cold. He trembled and wept.”
They later learned the puppy was a new pet named Noodle, and had gone overboard during a ferry ride earlier in the day.
The owner, Mario Di Meglio, had tried to send out a search party, but authorities thought it was unlikely they would find the dog in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, according to CBS. Luckily, the sailing club discovered Noodle only a half hour later.
He would’ve had to swim a long way to get to shore.
