If you’ve ever parked your vehicle in an area where there’s metered parking you have probably spent some amount of time debating how much money to give the meter.
If you put too much than you end up wasting money. If you put too little you run the risk of getting a parking ticket and no one wants a parking ticket—unless that parking ticket doesn’t involve a fine, per se.
Parking tickets are no fun.
During the holiday season a Redditor received a parking ticket in Victoria, British Columbia in Canada, and they shared it online because it was unlike your average ticket.
Rather than list a fine, the parking ticket encouraged the owner of the car to pay it forward.
The ticket read, “Rather than issue a parking ticket, we invite you to pay it forward and donate to a food bank or local charity of your choice.”
The parking ticket also offered suggestions on how to avoid a ticket next time.
The Redditor delivered.
Now while they could have taken care of the ticket by throwing it away and forgetting about it, they didn’t.
Only in Canada!
