Man Tries to Break Free From Home Blocked by Solid Wall of Snow
Imagine opening your front door and instead of the outside world you find a solid wall of snow. That’s what happened to this man on the Far East Russian island of Sakhalin.
He tried to kick through the wall. The first attempt was unsuccessful, accomplishing a mere footprint in the snow wall. The second attempt created an opening through which the man spotted his dogs barking outside.
It’s not unusual to get several feet of snow in Sakhalin, an island north of Japanese Hokkaido. While Sakhalin is almost as big as Hokkaido, it has less than a tenth of its population—about 500,000.
