However, Mr. Haden was pleasantly surprised by how much he enjoyed the experience.
“My wife is a dancer, so I brought her. But I have to admit, I’m really enjoying it. The colors, the choreography, the precision [were all] quite impressive. I liked it better than I thought,” he said.
“It’s amazing. Shen Yun is probably one of the best shows I’ve ever seen,” she said. “Very good.”
The mission of Shen Yun artists is to return to the world’s stage—the glory and beauty of China’s 5,000 years of divinely inspired culture.
The spiritual element of the performance particularly moved the couple.
“The theme of divinity—good versus evil, [people] coming from a divine power, and all the [heavenly] beings coming to earth to help save the earth—I believe in all that,” Mrs. Haden shared.

She also thoroughly enjoyed Shen Yun’s patented 3D digital backdrop, which, according to the company’s website, works with the performers to “extend the stage to infinite realms” and brings to its audience “storytelling without limits.”“I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s amazing how the dancers jump down, and all of a sudden, they’re in the picture. The technology—I’ve never seen anything like that,” Mrs. Haden stated.
