“It was magnificent, the music. But above all, the show is so incredible,” Eli Schewa Dreyfus, a singer and music teacher, told NTD.
“It’s very, very moving, spiritually deep,” she added. “At the same time, there is such perfection yet you feel the heart in it. If perfection, heart, and spirituality are united, that is the work of peace on this earth.”
Corine Moinat, a former president of the Board of Directors of Geneva Airport, said she appreciated the colors and diversity of the performances. “I really, really appreciated it. It’s very poetic, and at the same time, also very dynamic,” she said. “I really loved it, truly.”
Jean-Luc Pasche, a retired high school vice principal, said he was drawn to the traditional Chinese culture presented on the stage.
“What really interested me was precisely the Chinese culture aspect,” he said, adding, “The dancers are magnificent. The choreography is extraordinary. The music is more something for us to discover.”
“It’s extremely precise, it’s very beautiful, it’s extremely aesthetic, and they are magnificent performances,” Ms. Moinat said. “It’s a feast for the eyes as well.”
Mr. Pasche said of the dancers: “We find that the male and female dancers are extraordinary. They have such quality, such delicacy, a kind of delicacy in the way they dance.”
“I found their lightness remarkable. At times, we felt like they were almost flying. And I’m here with my partner. She also found magnificent that feather-like quality they have,” he added.
“Stunning,” Mr. Pasche said of the classical Chinese dance presented by Shen Yun. “I find that it’s a show I’ve never seen before, and yet we go to the theater very often, but we’ve never seen anything like it.”
“It’s exceptional,” Ms. Dreyfus said. “It’s like one body—united in harmony and with such lightness. You feel as if they are weightless.”
Classical Chinese dance serves as a physical expression of traditional Chinese culture. Theatregoers shared they were touched by the timeless values and a sense of divinity depicted by the dance.
“Benevolence,” Ms. Moinat said. “I appreciate that, it touches me personally.”
Ms. Dreyfus commented on Shen Yun’s portrayal of the divine and spirituality on stage.
“[Shen Yun] touches me because it’s there,” she said. “We are guided, we are also protected even when we go through very difficult times as humanity. And there is grace, there is love, present in every moment. It touches me deeply that they have the courage to say this to the world. It is very, very courageous what [Shen Yun] is doing.”
“Most people are asleep, and they think the solution is very far away. And here, [Shen Yun] shows that even in the greatest pain, if you connect with the spiritual and the eternal dimension, it’s right there.”
