Jeff Miller, a business owner, said, “It’s just amazing how beautiful it is. The dance and the music, it’s fantastic. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Jason Kayser, another business owner, said, “I think that the technical precision of the dancing is very nice, but it’s also matched with the gracefulness of how the outfits and the background come into play. It’s like a full experience of the sight and the sounds and understanding how the story fits together.”
Erica Goodnight, a business owner, said, “I felt like the water dance really brought a sense of peace, and it just showed how your environment can impact your life. It was just very peaceful. And so I felt like it brought a sense of peace for me.”
Ms. Goodnight said, “I think that the show does a great job of really detailing the Chinese heritage and how communism has really been a negative impact.”
Traditional Chinese culture and values find their roots in the divine, which Shen Yun showcases through classical Chinese dance and music—an effort warmly embraced by theatergoers.
Tyler Shear, an assistant company vice president, said, “I think it makes you reflect on the last many years I’ve been around and how I want to live going forward for myself, family, those I work with, friends, and how I can instill things I learned today going forward.”
Mr. Miller said, “We’ve been to lots of plays and shows, and it’s just something completely different. Maybe it is a little bit of the peacefulness and the inspiration that’s coming through.”
