LYON, France—Shen Yun Performing Arts started its season in France in Lyon, the City of Light, on Saturday, Feb. 4 at l’Amphithéâtre 3000.

In Lyon, the Boiron laboratories have been known for more than 90 years, bringing not only their expertise in the field of homeopathy, but also contributing to the development of the economy of the Rhône-Alpes region. Present in more than 50 countries, the Boiron Laboratories are currently the world leader in homeopathy.

This Saturday evening, Michelle Boiron was in the audience at l’Amphitheatre 3000, accompanied by her friends and family. In total, the administrator of Boiron Laboratories booked 12 seats for herself and her loved ones, eager to experience Shen Yun.

“It was magical,” exclaimed Mrs. Boiron. “I bought 12 tickets and those who came ranged from 80 to 14 years old ... And everyone loved the show!”

New York-based Shen Yun is the world’s top classical Chinese dance company and is back in France for a brand new show reviving the very rich traditional Chinese culture.

Mrs. Boiron said she felt “relief, joy ... satisfaction ... and happiness to make her friends and family happy.”

For her, the artistic level of Shen Yun was “extraordinary.”

“The male and female dancers are outstanding, and the members of the orchestra too, are really great!” she said.

“The sets are beautiful. You get carried away,” she said, referring to the animated backdrop, which displays beautiful landscapes of ancient China, while using unique technology that interacts with the performers on stage.

Shen Yun can be translated as “the beauty of divine beings dancing.” In respect to the daily lives of the ancient Chinese, from the humblest to the most powerful, all lived and acted in accordance with the divine.

As noted in Shen Yun’s program, “China was once known as ‘The Land of the Divine.’ This reflected a belief that its glorious culture was brought down from above. People sought harmony among Heaven, Earth, and humankind, and followed the course of nature.”

Artists in ancient China also respected this belief, which honored the Divine and encouraged kindness in their work and daily lives.

In discovering this aspect of traditional Chinese culture, Mrs. Boiron said she has “a lot of respect for that.”

She believes that Shen Yun introduce us to a country that is “completely different from how we perceive China today, obviously. And so it gives an idea ... a little bit of a dream if you will.”

“It’s an exciting time for China and what it represents,” she concluded.
