EL PASO, Texas—On the evening of March 14, Shen Yun North America Company took the stage at The Plaza Theatre in El Paso for their last Texas performance. The show marked the grand finale of Shen Yun’s 2026 Texas tour.

Since December 26, 2025, Shen Yun has presented 42 performances across nine Texas cities, with the vast majority of shows at full capacity and receiving widespread acclaim.

That evening, Texas State Representative Vince Perez attended the performance with his wife, Victoria Prado. Following the show, he presented a resolution on behalf of the Texas state government to Shen Yun’s artistic team.

In the resolution, Mr. Perez commended Shen Yun for its outstanding contributions to the preservation and promotion of traditional culture and the arts. He praised the performers’ remarkable achievements in the realm of performing arts and their dedication to safeguarding Chinese cultural heritage, expressing heartfelt thanks to the Shen Yun company on behalf of the people of Texas.

Mr. Perez represents Texas’s 77th District, while Ms. Prado works as a court interpreter. Both shared that, as first-time viewers, they were deeply moved by the beauty and richness of the performance.

“It’s a beautiful show, well worth it. I'd highly recommend it,” Mr. Perez said after watching Shen Yun. “We’re very happy to be here tonight to enjoy this performance.”

Mr. Perez also praised Shen Yun’s costumes. “The silk costumes and gold trimmings are absolutely beautiful and add so much to the dance,” he said.

Ms. Prado agreed. “The colors, the dresses—everything is just so beautiful,” she said.

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of China’s divinely inspired heritage and share with audiences the beauty of China before communism. Through classical Chinese, folk, and story-based dances, Shen Yun brings to life traditional values such as filial piety, kindness, truthfulness, and loyalty.

The couple was captivated by these dance dramas. Ms. Prado remarked, “The stories are very interesting and entertaining.”

Shen Yun’s innovative dynamic backdrops also caught Mr. Perez’s attention. “Seeing the dancers emerge from the screen is very creative. You can tell it takes precise timing and a lot of practice,” he said.
The spiritual richness of the performances also left a strong impression on Mr. Perez, who called the stories “enlightening,” and on Ms. Prado, who was particularly intrigued by the depiction of heaven and religious freedom. “The way they present heaven, the gods, and the freedom to practice spirituality is very unique,” she said.
