“[Shen Yun] one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. I had no idea what the classic dance in China was like, and the fascinating role that the women play. They are so, feminine.
“The history of the dance is a huge surprise to me. It’s described [in the program] as being classical Chinese. I had no idea that there was such a cultural significance to dance in china, and for so long, so it’s an education for me. I had no idea.
“I have noticed that the timing is key [to the animated backdrop]; that it’s all synchronized with the music. The live action and the recorded elements are put together so well. A lot of planning went into this. Because I’m in media production I got a big kick out of the fact that [Shen Yun was] able to match the size of the characters as they come off the screen and then pop up. The size match. That’s hard to do on a screen that size. Fascinating.”
