Shen Yun ‘Well Executed’ Says Professional Development Expert
ESCONDIDO, Calif.—Dr. Wayne Hart and his wife, Candi, were among the audience enjoying a sold out production of Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company, on March 2, at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
Dr. Hart, an organizational psychologist, has published multiple books on professional development and executive coaching. He is a senior faculty at Center for Creative Leadership, and he serves on three boards: California Center for Sustainable Energy, San Diego State University Executive Coaching Program, and Vista Community Clinic.
Both he and his wife appreciated Shen Yun.
“It’s beautiful. It’s well executed. It’s very enjoyable,” Dr. Hart said.
His wife agreed. “It’s very professional—beautiful dancing, and I like the choreography. It’s unique,” she said.
Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company. The non-profit, New York-based company creates an all-new production each year, six months of which is spent touring the world on its mission to revive traditional Chinese culture.
The company website explains, “Shen Yun Performing Arts’ dance style is built upon classical Chinese dance as a foundation, while also maintaining a number of ethnic and folk dances. This combination embodies Chinese people’s aestheticism and ethnic character.”
The performance consists of a variety of vignettes that transport audiences to the scenes of ancient myths and legends, modern stories of courage, and traditional ethnic villages—each in their own way embodying the values of traditional Chinese culture.
Dr. Hart enjoyed how, before each piece, Chinese and English-speaking emcees introduced the background and context for better understanding.
He said he felt happy during the performance, and he would recommend it.
“Oh, certainly,” he said. “Beautifully done; beautiful costumes; great music.”
“Yes, it’s beautiful dancing,” said Mrs. Hart.
