BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—After attending Shen Yun, Argentine National Deputy Miriam Niveyro spoke highly of the performance, praising its exceptional dance technique and grand staging.

Ms. Niveyro also said she was deeply moved by the portrayal of people in China who suffer persecution for their beliefs, and expressed admiration for Shen Yun’s mission to revive spiritual values.

Ms. Niveyro, a member of Argentina’s ruling coalition La Libertad Avanza, was elected to Congress last year and will serve through 2029. On the evening of April 11, she attended a Shen Yun performance at Teatro Ópera in Buenos Aires.

“Honestly, the performance is very moving. It reaffirms and highlights the values of human beings—let’s say the good side of humanity—and it encourages us to continue working for those values of faith. May God grant us freedom above all,” Ms. Niveyro said.

“The performance is truly very beautiful and deeply moving—especially meaningful in the times we are living in,” she added.

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of China’s divinely inspired heritage and share with audiences the beauty of China before communism.
Ms. Niveyro noted that what touched her most was the depiction of people of faith facing persecution.

“The persecution—particularly in China, but also in other places—of people who hold these values is what moved me the most,” Ms. Niveyro said. “Sometimes goodness is persecuted by human selfishness, or for reasons we may not fully understand—and that is what struck me the most.”

As a person of faith, Ms. Niveyro said she felt a strong spiritual connection during the performance. “Of course—I am a believer, and I truly felt connected with many aspects of the performance. It is very good and very beautiful, and something I would highly recommend,” she said.

Reflecting on Shen Yun’s mission to revive traditional values, she expressed a sense of relevance to her own country. “In Argentina, at this moment in our history, we are working hard to reaffirm and revalue these principles,” Ms. Niveyro said. “Not only religious values, but also the values that define us as human beings—altruism, kindness, sharing, generosity toward others, and above all, freedom. So truly, it is very beautiful.”

She was deeply impressed by Shen Yun’s artistic excellence and offered her congratulations to the performers and creative team. “First of all, the dance technique is spectacular—truly exquisite. At times, it feels as though they are floating in the air rather than standing on the ground. I sincerely congratulate them,” she said.

“This reflects the tremendous effort behind the performance—from the director to the staging and everything involved. It is majestic,” she continued. “I sincerely congratulate them and thank them for being here in Argentina. For us, it is an honor to have them performing in a theater on Corrientes Avenue.”

For those who have not had a chance to experience Shen Yun, Ms. Niveyro offered a heartfelt recommendation. “I would tell them not to miss it, because it is rare to see a performance that elevates the human being to such a level,” she said. “I believe that those who truly believe in God and are committed to upholding human values should come and see it.”

Shen Yun puts on an all-new production every year. Everything, including the music and costumes, is original each season. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, Shen Yun tours the world with eight equally sized companies, bringing a vibrant cultural renaissance to audiences worldwide.
