BOSTON—The Boston Opera House hosted Shen Yun Performing Arts, the world-renowned classical Chinese dance and music company, on Monday to the delight of theatergoers.
Marc Bolh, founder and president of healthcare consulting company Bolh Management Advisors, attended the Feb. 11 performance with his wife, France.
“It covers different aspects of life in ancient China,” Mr. Bolh said. “It’s very colorful, it’s very joyful.”
Ms. Bolh said the story-based dances made her feel as if she were experiencing the 5,000-year culture first-hand.
New York-based Shen Yun has three companies that tour to around 100 cities each year, reviving China’s divinely-inspired traditional culture.
Mr. Bolh was impressed by Shen Yun’s digitally animated backdrops, which reflect China’s multi-faceted ethnic regions and geography.
“The scenes in the background are quite phenomenal,” he said.
Ms. Bolh was dazzled by the hundreds of handmade costumes featured in Shen Yun and enjoyed the grace of classical Chinese dance.
“It was very light, very graceful,” she said. “I like the costumes, the colors.”
“I thought it was very pretty, very delicate and very beautiful,” she said.
“That’s the one that I also liked,” added Mr. Bolh. “Very nice.”
