STAMFORD, Conn.—Marco Estrella, a vice president for Chase Bank, enjoyed the traditional culture he saw brought to life by Shen Yun Performing Arts.
“It’s a must-see,” Mr. Estrella said after seeing the performance at The Palace Theatre on March 7. “Beautiful. The dancing, they are very gifted dancers, and they’re very synchronized. Amazing.”
Though the works were original, Mr. Estrella found the music to be classical and timeless, not the experimental modern style at all.
“It’s very traditional, nothing modern,” he said. “It looks like it would be music that’s been played for many, many years.”
Mr. Estrella also expressed support for Shen Yun’s mission to revive a culture that was once nearly lost under modern communist rule, and said the artists’ work was “very important.”
“I can imagine that people get their stories from their grandparents. They must miss that kind of tradition; Chinese traditions are very stable, they’re very serious,” he said. “And I’m imagining these people want to show that to their future generations.”
“Those three words are lacking [in today’s society], and we need to get back more into it,” he said.
