SÃO PAULO, Brazil—Shen Yun Performing Arts presented a show in São Paulo, Brazil on April 30, transporting audiences on a journey through ancient China. São Paulo City Council Member Amanda Vettorazzo was brought to tears and commented on the beauty of the performance.

“Extremely moving—I think you can see it on my face, you go in as one person and come out as another—both the artistic side and the message behind the whole performance,” Councillor Vettorazzo said.

“It was the second time I came and it was wonderful as always,” Meire Espírito Santo, an entrepreneur, said. “The costumes, the story and the message, especially the message that brings the divine world to people and brings it back, which I think is what the world needs most nowadays.”

“I felt as if I were in the clouds, watching those girls dancing on pointe. It was wonderful,” Ana Lúcia Manzato Antibero, a businesswoman, said.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from “China before communism.” Audience members shared their appreciation for the traditional stories and values presented on stage.

“I found it a unique presentation. It’s wonderful to see a culture from the other side of the world with such impressive lightness,” Ms. Antibero added.

“Through this performance, we’re able to rediscover their origins,” Councillor Vettorazzo said. “It’s a great show, because it brings not only the artistic side that enriches us as human beings, but also the appreciation for what we have, and for us to always have religious freedom.”

Ms. Santo said, “In order to raise the next generations with dignity and honor, the arts need to come to this side, seeking to reclaim that divinity, seeking to uplift people’s souls.”

“Come here and share this amazing experience with the whole world, because what really makes it worthwhile is getting to know Chinese culture. I think it’s truly worth it,” Pâmela Dias da Silva, a journalist, said.

Shen Yun will be performing in Porto Allegre, Brazil, from May 9–10.
