PHILADELPHIA—Harold Hurwitz, a logistics executive, was blown away by Shen Yun Performing Arts.
“The choreography, the dance, the costume changes, it’s just unbelievable. Some of it is just breathtaking and amazing. You’re on the edge of your seat with every dance move and everything else. It’s incredible,” said Mr. Hurwitz, who attended Shen Yun with his wife, Brenda, at the Miller Theater on May 9.
“It is art at its finest,” he said.
“In one of the scenes, it was about love and fighting for love. And things happen when you continue to fight for what you want and love. It was more romantic than anything else. It was something else. And I really enjoyed that,” he said. “You do feel connected. You can feel the story that’s being told. You feel it in your soul.”
Mrs. Hurwitz said she agreed with all the praise Mr. Hurwitz had given, adding that “it’s a must-see.”
“Absolutely must see,” Mr. Hurwitz added. “Everyone should come and see this. It’s so enjoyable and relaxing and beautiful.”

Also thoroughly impressed with Shen Yun was Linford Zimmerman, a business manager, who attended Friday’s performance with his wife, Chan, and their daughter.
“It’s a very impressive show. Very impressive show and it leaves you with a very healthy mindset,” he said.
“Very much positive energy and a healthy mental state,” Mr. Zimmerman said, elaborating that it made him think of kindness, and to be “gentle and fair with people.”
“I like that they’re bringing back the good part of China that was before today,” he said.
