Among those in attendance was Chiara Rossi, an Italian playwright, cultural critic, and board member of the Italian National Centre for Contemporary Theatre (CENDIC). For her, the evening was more than a theatrical event—it was a long-anticipated artistic encounter.
“This was a performance I had eagerly anticipated for a long time,” she said. “I truly appreciate Shen Yun’s philosophy. I believe the stage should not only present artistic works but also carry the responsibility of addressing important issues. In fact, the Falun Dafa truth-clarification program particularly touched me. I perceive this performance as transcending mere beauty.
“Shen Yun embodies a comprehensive aesthetic that includes historical, traditional, and mythological elements, while also delivering a social message. This is crucial, as many individuals remain unaware of these truths. So Shen Yun’s performance was exceptionally successful, and the performers were undoubtedly outstanding.”
She added that the performers conveyed a palpable inner strength. “One can definitely feel the energy. And I believe that this energy has the power to move everyone. The artists possess a magnetic charm, an elegance, and kindness. And ‘kindness’ is precisely what our era is most in need of. I believe that kindness will save the world.”
Reflecting on the spiritual dimension of the performance, she said, “First of all, Shen Yun serves as a reminder—as the baritone sings—that we are merely passersby on this earth, and that a higher power exists in our world. In all traditions and cultures, there is a transcendental aspect. However, today, everything appears to have become excessively superficial and secular. Thus, a dance drama like this can inspire deep thought.”
In closing, Ms. Rossi offered heartfelt encouragement to the artists. “Please continue to spread this message as widely as possible, especially to young people. They need to know that this world does not consist only of arrogance and violence, but also of other essential values.”
