PARIS, France—For its final performance in January at the Palais des Congrès, Shen Yun was sold out.
Gérard Guyot is one of those men who has had a remarkable career: as a child, he dreamed of becoming an airline pilot, but health concerns ultimately led him to pursue an equally exceptional career ... as a test pilot at Airbus.
This rigorous and highly specialized profession has allowed him to enjoy even more fascinating and varied flying experiences than a traditional airline pilot career.
“The level of artistry is extremely high,” said the former test pilot. “You can immediately see the quality of the dancers; it’s wonderful. It takes hours and hours of training. It’s truly magnificent!”
Courage, loyalty, endurance: the former test pilot was moved by the values conveyed through Shen Yun’s dance and song performances: “A show like this does a lot of good, especially in a world that can sometimes be brutal. It’s very soothing and inspires dreams!”
“I am very happy to be here and to have discovered this wonderful show,” concluded Mr. Guyot.

Shen Yun Is ‘A Feast of Colors’
Alain and Jocelyne Ronzeaud said they were “very happy to immerse themselves in the origins of China” through Shen Yun. The former dental surgeon particularly enjoyed Shen Yun’s orchestra, whose “music is very beautiful,” adding, “We weren’t familiar with this music, and it’s a wonderful discovery.”The Shen Yun orchestra is truly unique in the world, combining a traditional Western symphony orchestra with the sounds of Eastern instruments such as the erhu, gong, and pipa.
The couple was also amazed by the special effects of the animated digital backdrop, unique and patented by Shen Yun.
“The video system is perfect. It’s surprising and very well done!” said Alain Ronzeaud enthusiastically. His wife added, “The video is remarkable. You don’t expect it at all, and then it explodes—It’s magnificent!”
Both said they were moved by the spirituality that permeates Shen Yun’s dance and song performances. Jocelyne Ronzeaud said she felt this connection to the divine throughout the show, emphasizing, “The show brings us closer to religion, and that’s very good. It’s very moving.”
“It’s very morality-based, and that’s great!” added Alain Ronzeaud.
For Jocelyne Ronzeaud, the show is a true vehicle for humanity, because it “seeks to convey the message that there should be less violence in the world, that we should be closer to one another and more connected to nature.” “It was really, really good.”
“We’re discovering completely new things, and that’s great. We'll be able to talk about it with those around us,” concluded the artist.
“It’s a feast of colors, very educational, and carries a moral message,” sums up Alain Ronzeaud. “Shen Yun is like a fairy tale told in several scenes. That’s exactly what I would say to friends if they were hesitant about coming to see the show.”
