HOUSTON—“It’s absolutely stunning and visually beautiful,” said Matt Landry, president of Western Mortgage Corporation, of Shen Yun Performing Arts.

“The talent on stage is just phenomenal,” Mr. Landry said.

Mr. Landry saw New York-based Shen Yun for the first time as a Christmas gift with his family at the Jones Hall for the Performing Arts in Houston, Dec. 27.

Mr. Landry said he found the dancing and the history of 5,000 years to be stunning.

“It’s very elegant,” he said. “[There’s] a lot of wisdom into what they’re trying to teach people in the dance.”

Shen Yun performs traditional Chinese dance, including classical Chinese dance and ethnic and folk dances from the many minority groups across China. The traditional Chinese values are imbued into these art forms, which Shen Yun uses to revive a once nearly-lost divinely inspired culture.

“It’s very inspirational,” Mr. Landry said, adding that he wants to take in more of the culture.

“I’m completely enjoying the show,” he concluded. “We will definitely be back.”
