Writer Touched by Shen Yun Spirituality

“It was a pleasure for me to be here. I didn’t know about this show before. Two weeks ago, I happened to be going by the TV and a [Shen Yun] commercial was on, so I said, ‘Wow, that’s amazing. That’s colourful. That’s brilliant. That’s skillful.’ I really wanted to see real, physical people that really do those things with their bodies, so agile and skillful, and I’m glad I came.”

“A surprise for me is that the show is very spiritual. I didn’t expect it to be spiritual—I was just coming to see a traditional dance routine. It is very spiritual because it actually honours God and the talent and the skills that He has given to the dancers.”

“I learned something about the culture that I didn’t know. I happen to have a Chinese granddaughter, and I was just standing there, saying to my sister, ‘We should have brought [her], this is her culture.’ I didn’t know what it was. It’s very brilliant. It’s more than I expected it to be. It’s very, very brilliant.”

“I’ll come next year, and I’m going to bring all my grandkids next year because this is something that they need to see for history and expand their horizon without having to leave the country.”
