Wine Grower Says Shen Yun ‘Absolutely brilliant’

ADELAIDE, Australia—“It’s absolutely brilliant,” said Malcolm Cleggett after seeing the first half of Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company’s performance at the Adelaide Festival Theatre on Saturday, April 19.

Mr. Cleggett is an award-winning local wine grower whose family first planted grape vines in the Langhorne Creek wine region in 1911. Today, they have planted a variety of vines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and more. In 2001, Mr. Cleggett was awarded the Legend of Langhorne Creek Award for his services to viticulture and the local wine industry.

Mr. Cleggett says he was impressed by Shen Yun’s presentation of China’s ancient culture.

“I was surprised how it went back from so many centuries before,” Mr. Gleggett said. “It was really, really good.”

According to Shen Yun’s website: “For 5,000 years divine culture flourished in the land of China. Humanity’s treasure was nearly lost, but through breathtaking music and dance, Shen Yun is bringing back this glorious culture.” Shen Yun, based in New York, is independent of the Chinese regime.

Mr. Cleggett says he felt Shen Yun’s performance was “vibrant” and unique. According to Shen Yun’s website: “Chinese dance is at the heart of what Shen Yun does. Known for its incredible flips and spins, and its gentle elegance, it is one of the most rigorous and expressive art forms in the world.”

Mr. Cleggett said he would tell his friends and others to come experience Shen Yun.
