BUENOS AIRES, Argentina— After viewing Shen Yun for the first time, Argentine National Deputy Alejandro Fargosi described it as “absolutely spectacular” and gave it high praise.
Mr. Fargosi is a member of the Argentine Congress and a former member of the Justice Committee. He is also a veteran lawyer who has served as a partner at major law firms.
Calling the performance “incredible,” Mr. Fargosi highlighted the performers’ “perfect coordination” as well as their “immense love for their own culture.”
Reflecting on Shen Yun’s mission to revive traditional Chinese culture, he expressed deep admiration for the sense of purpose conveyed on stage.
“What stands out is a dedication to upholding values that are not only traditional but also vital. And preserving them in such a dedicated way, as Shen Yun does, clearly shows a deep love for them,” he said.
Mr. Fargosi noted that this is an enormous undertaking.
“It is difficult to do so when dealing with a cultural phenomenon as profound as the one we are discussing,” he said. “For us—a people as young as Argentina—it feels almost foreign: a millennia-old process, a culture of life, a way of life—the very way of life that Falun Dafa so intensely upholds.”
Beyond its cultural message, Mr. Fargosi said he was struck by the artistic excellence of the performance.
“In a way, I can perceive its depth,” he said. “But from the visual and aesthetic side, it is something wonderful—truly wonderful.”
He emphasized that Shen Yun’s artistic quality alone makes it unmissable.
“If there is one thing to do, it is to go see it—it is truly unmissable. You absolutely have to come—there is no debate, it’s a marvel.”
“When they portray the phenomenon of attempted domination—which is still ongoing—the attempt at domination by communist totalitarianism that still governs China today, what is missing there is freedom,” he said. “And this is clearly shown in the scene of persecution, imprisonment, and the blinding of the protagonist.”
Mr. Fargosi also shared his thoughts on the symbolic meaning of blindness in the depiction.
“The blinding may go unnoticed, but it represents the attempt to prevent him from seeing the truth, reality, and the transcendent values being defended—something he ultimately overcomes through spiritual strength.”
When asked what he would say to Shen Yun’s artistic director, Mr. Fargosi responded enthusiastically: “Bravo! Bravo!”
“It’s absolutely unique!” he said. “I would tell people: come without hesitation—it is a marvel!”
