LUBLIN, Poland—Continuing its tour through Europe, Shen Yun Performing Arts has concluded three performances over two days in Lublin. Two of the performances were sold out, and the audience gave the artists standing ovations and two curtain calls.

“This is an unforgettable performance,” said Marek Krakowski, director of the venue, Center for the Meeting of Cultures, one of the largest cultural institutions in eastern Poland.

“The stage is full of light, and you can see the entire spectrum of color. The costumes are luxurious and elegant, the choreography is very attractive, and the performance is grand and spectacular,” said Mr. Krakowski, who also brought his family to see Shen Yun.

Shen Yun’s artists are trained in classical Chinese dance which is a dance form with a history of thousands of years.

“The traditional dance is very interesting and profound. It is completely different from traditional European art and is well worth watching. I hope to invite [Shen Yun] to come again next time,” said Mr. Krakowski.

Although the performance showcases traditional Chinese culture, Shen Yun is actually based in New York, and it is dedicated to presenting China before communism to audiences everywhere.

Each of Shen Yun’s eight companies includes a live orchestra that harmoniously combines instruments of the East and West.

“Shen Yun’s music allows people to immediately connect with Chinese culture. The orchestra has many classical instruments, but the way they are used is different. The music has its own characteristics and vibrational frequency,” remarked Mr. Krakowski.

Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance are the principles at the core of Falun Dafa. Shen Yun’s artists who practice Falun Dafa, hold themselves to live by these principles every day.

Mr. Krakowski shared that these principles are fundamental to today’s society.

“Truth is a universal value. It’s the basis for the operation of human society and the basis for human development. Kindness and compassion are the basis for creating and maintaining relationships between people. Without these two values, there would be no good society,” he said.

He elaborated that he could see Shen Yun’s artists following the principles of Falun Dafa as is shown in the way they work together on stage.

“The seamless synchronicity of the artists shows that they have a good relationship and understanding [with each other]. This is reflected in the performance. You can feel it,” said Mr. Krakowski.

The stories presented in Shen Yun show the profound reverence for the divine that China once had.

“Shen Yun gives people a completely different view of the world and brings hope and goodness,” said Mr. Krakowski.

“The performance is done by heavenly beings! It’s really the beauty of divine beings dancing,” said Beata Kalinowska excitedly after watching Shen Yun. She saw heavenly beings dancing on the stage.

As Ms. Kalinowska said, Shen Yun’s name means the beauty of divine beings dancing.

“I’m a sensitive person, so for me, this was an extraordinary and really cool experience. I have a hard time putting it into words. It was so uplifting and enlightening for the soul and for the heart. I felt at peace. For me, [seeing Shen Yun] is a magical journey toward inner peace and balance,” shared Ms. Kalinowska, an accountant.

Ms. Kalinowska shared what she saw.

“I felt that I was there together with heavenly beings. They exist in the form of light, and they are on the stage, beside the artists, and hovering over the ground. They have a little bit of contact [with the ground], but usually they’re just very close to the ground. There were many, many heavenly beings, and they were all over the stage, everywhere,” she said.

“The heavenly beings were transmitting energy to the audience and brought harmony,” she added.

Jacek Nowak, a computer scientist attended the performance with Ms. Kalinowska.

“The performance was great! This was our first time watching it this year, and [Shen Yun’s] perfect performance left an unforgettable impression on us,” said Mr. Nowak.

The closing dance of the performance included a scene of the Creator saving mankind from disaster. Ms. Kalinowska said she “was mesmerized. We hope to see Shen Yun again next year and hope to see more.”

Lublin is the first city where Shen Yun Performing Arts performed in Poland in 2024. Shen Yun will also perform in three other Polish cities: Toruń, Łódź, and Gdynia.
