Shen Yun Showcases China’s Rich Ethnic Diversity
Julie (L) and Steven Smith attended the Shen Yun performance at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Ill., on April 5, 2018. "I really enjoyed the athleticism of the performers. I love their colorful costumes. Their synchronization has been phenomenal, so I’ve really enjoyed seeing how they’re able to perform such exact movements in perfect harmony; I love that. I love how they smile all the time while they’re dancing. That’s beautiful," Ms. Smith said. (Stacey Tang/The Epoch Times)

“The beauty, the harmony, the peace, the depth of tradition.”

“Chinese culture is so long, and it’s so tradition-based. This takes you beyond the stereotypical martial arts, and you look at the actual roots of a lot of these dances. You can see a lot of the Hmong dance had very different movements than the other dances. Obviously it’s a very ethnic-type dance, so it has its own rhythms and movements, and I like that. ... China’s a large place with a lot of cultures.”
