TAICHUNG, Taiwan—Ni Zhaolong, honorary chairman of Central Taiwan Fine Arts Association, attended Shen Yun Performing Arts World Company’s second show at Taichung City Chung Shan Hall along with his wife Lin Huizhen in the afternoon of April 20.
“Every piece of the program is rich in educational significance, which is beneficial to the audience. This is a great approach of education,” he said.
“The arts education in Taiwan has been in decline in terms of music, fine arts, and dance. Shen Yun displays Chinese history and traditional culture to the audience through dance dramas, music, sound effects, and lighting,” he added.
Seeing Shen Yun for two times, Ni Zhaolong has truly enlightened to Shen Yun’s educational significance.
“Shen Yun can upgrade the arts education when the general public, in particular, those who are from teacher training institutions, attend the show,” he explained.
“Every dance drama was perfectly synchronized with the backdrops and the visual effects on the stage, and they match the plot seamlessly. It is really something new for us,” he praised.
“I think the cultivation and training of [Shen Yun] dancers and singers is perfect,” he said. He referred to Shen Yun’s performance as a demonstration of “truth, goodness, and beauty.”
“In a short period of time, the audience was ushered into a world full of entertainment and education,” he said. “The mayor should be here to see the show. It would be even more meaningful if all the principals of middle schools [in Taichung City] could be invited to see the performance with the government funds, as it would be of much help to the elevation of the domestic arts education.”
“All the domestic institutions responsible for the cultivation of artists should send their staff to see Shen Yun, to further enhance their artistic capabilities,” he urged.
Amazed by New York-based Shen Yun’s exceptionally good performance, Ni Zhaolong’s wife, Lin Huizhen, who is a board director of the Central Taiwan Fine Arts Association, echoed her husband’s remarks.
She said, “Shen Yun is a high-quality artistic performance group. All what it performs is based on traditional Chinese culture. I am particularly amazed by its dancers’ training. Every dancer’s rhythms and movements are in great unison with perfect precision, so that the overall performance is very succinct and pleasant to the eyes.”
“Besides the rigorous training each dancer has undergone, we can also tell each performer’s dedication,” she added. “Every dancer is almost of the same height. This performing arts group is really amazing!”
“The great dedication of these artists is worthy of everyone’s praises,” Lin Huizhen said.
“All the colors complement each other perfectly. The vibrant colors, coupled with the perfect design of the dances, make the overall performance on the stage very beautiful. This is something that other performance groups cannot do. This design is truly amazing!”
