Shen Yun Is Culturally Insightful, Says Government Deputy Director

“It’s beautiful. The choreography is very interesting. It’s very culturally insightful. It’s eye-opening. I’m really learning about Chinese culture and art.”

“[I am learning] a bit of the history. It’s also contemporary. We learned that there are things currently prohibited in China, that their performances are not able to show over there that we are privileged to see here in Canada. That’s something we didn’t know before we came here tonight.”

“[Shen Yun, which means ‘the beauty of divine beings dancing’] I think it’s in its art, in the dance. There was a quote from one of the narrators—the dancing shows the soul of [the character], the true expression of their heart. … I thought that was very, very cute.”

“[Shen Yun] takes us through time.”
