CLAREMONT, Calif.—After seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Bridges Auditorium on April 8, Machy Pierola felt inspired by all that she witnessed. “I am astonished! I am without words,” she said. “It’s so beautiful, so elegant, so perfect.”
“It’s an enjoyment. It’s a huge thing,” said Ms. Pierola, a Spanish teacher at Claremont Colleges. “I understood that they are giving a huge message to the world. I am inspired. I found inspirations for my classes. This feeling of God and the future, the beginning of the new man, the good people going to heaven, the healing of people with the music, and also about ending Communism.”
Ms. Pierola explained that because she is a Christian, she sensed “the biggest message is about God, about heaven, about going back to heaven.”
Shen Yun Performing Arts is a world-premier, classical Chinese dance and music company based in New York. Started in 2006, Shen Yun tours the world with the mission to revive traditional Chinese culture, which was nearly destroyed by the communist regime in China.
Ms. Pierola said she admires Shen Yun’s mission. “I think they are very, very valiant to do that around the world at the same time. I really think that they are impacting everybody. We have to be aware. We live in a world that we don’t care much about news and about anything else.”
“They present the oppression in China in a very beautiful and artistic way.” she added. “I would recommend it to everybody. I want to convince my students to come, to tell all my family to be here.”
