NEW YORK—Nigel Hart, a portfolio manager for a large global investment firm, saw Shen Yun Performing Arts’ matinee performance at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking during the intermission he said the performance was very impressive.

“The choreography’s excellent. The costumes are vibrant. And it’s very enjoyable,” Hart said.

A Shen Yun performance features the “world’s foremost classically trained dancers, a unique orchestra blending East and West, and dazzling animated backdrops—together creating one spectacular performance,” according to Shen Yun’s website.

Hart took his two children to see the performance. “They do contemporary dance and ballet. This [classical Chinese dance] is very different though, so it’s good for them.”
