COSTA MESA, Calif.—Dei Murray, past President of the CA Parks & Recreation, now a Commissioner & Board Member, enjoyed her Sunday afternoon watching the performance by Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, on March 16.
“I loved the show,” said Ms. Murray. “Absolutely magnificent.”
According to New York-based Shen Yun’s website, “For 5,000 years divine culture flourished in the land of China. Humanity’s treasure was nearly lost, but through breathtaking music and dance, Shen Yun is bringing back this glorious culture.”
Ms. Murray thought the dance, music and theme of the performance was wonderful, along with the intricate and colorful costumes.
“I think the classical dancing was absolutely marvelous,” she said. “And of course the theme for 5000 years, heaven, earth and humanity was absolutely beautifully told with the movement, the music, the singing, and of course the costumes were just spectacular. It was just very enjoyable.”
Ms. Murray attended Shen Yun with about 25 members of the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club, and she said everyone was very happy with the performance.
“I will remember the beautiful music and the beautiful dance, and it’s extremely enjoyable and relaxing. So impressed,” she said.
Ms. Murray said it was her first time seeing a Shen Yun performance, but she hoped to see the next one very soon. She recommended the performance for the young and old alike.
“Really recommend this for a family as well as adults,” she said.
