LOS ANGELES—Curt Feldtkeller, NBC radio and television host and CEO of Conscious Competence, enjoyed Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Saturday March 22.
“I absolutely loved it,” said Mr. Feldtkeller. “It’s very rhythmical; the choreography is phenomenal, especially the synchronicity of all the dancers is phenomenal.”
Shen Yun is a New York-based non-profit performing arts organization that shares the divinely-inspired culture of ancient China with the rest of the world through spectacular music and dance.
Shen Yun performances feature classical Chinese dance with live orchestral accompaniment, musical soloists, intricate handmade costumes, and an interactive digital backdrop.
Mr. Feldtkeller loved the dancers’ costumes.
“Very elaborate costuming, very colorful,” he said.
He also thought the graphics in the backdrop were very interesting. During a Shen Yun performance, the dancers occasionally appear to leap directly into the background or jump out of it onto the stage, giving the program a magical feel.
Mr. Feldtkeller said he was touched by the skill and work ethic of all of Shen Yun’s artists.
“I’m just inspired by their dedication to their craft and how good they are,” he said.
He said he would “absolutely” recommend Shen Yun to others.
“I would say everybody else needs to come and see this, because if you want to see something athletic yet artful and graceful, this is what you want to see,” said Mr. Feldtkeller.
