NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—Nadia Tumas was truly captivated by the beauty and the deep inner meanings in the Shen Yun Performing Arts performance she saw on April 20 at the Valley Performing Arts Center.
“It’s absolutely beautiful, aesthetically and emotionally, it’s very very powerful: it’s awakening me,” Ms.Tumas said.
Ms. Tumas is a life and business coach, as well as founder and CEO of The Global Health & Wellness Center. Ms. Tumas, who is originally from Russia, graduated from the St. Petersburg State Institute of Technology with an MBA, and a degree in chemical engineering, and became a licensed practical nurse after graduating from American Career College.
“I am just ecstatic, it’s absolutely deeply touched my consciousness, my body,” Ms. Tumas said about Shen Yun. “It’s really very emotional and it’s not what you see: I feel the energy.”
In ancient China, spirituality and life were inseparable. Everyone looked to the divine for how to live life with integrity, as well as divine creative inspiration.
“The Shen Yun artists—dancers, musicians, choreographers, composers, and the entire team—follow this noble tradition. For them, this spiritual connection is motivation for striving to excel, is the heart behind each movement of the dancer and each note of the musician. It is why audiences can feel there is something different about Shen Yun. Their source of inspiration, rooted in traditional Chinese culture, is the spiritual discipline known as Falun Dafa,” says Shen Yun’s website.
Ms. Tuman said watching Shen Yun inspires her to become a better person, awaking in her a “sense of love.”
“I just love it. I just really love it.”
There were many elements in the performance for her to admire—the beauty, harmony, elegance, and the powerful feeling that she was actually in ancient China amid the beautiful scenery.
Ms. Tumas believes everyone needs to experience Shen Yun.
“I just tell everybody you need to come, come see and feel it. … This is the performance you need to experience.”
She wanted to express her heart-felt thank you to the entire Shen Yun company.
“Thank you so much for bringing this beautiful show to people, because it’s really … people need it,” Ms. Tomas concluded, “We forgot that there is so much beauty in this world. And [Shen Yun shares] so generously this beauty.”
