Harvard Professors Enjoy Mix of Cultures in Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra

October 14, 2017

“I found it a very rich mix of Western and Chinese music. … I enjoyed the instruments we don’t normally see here—the erhu, the pipa. So that was very enjoyable, especially when the erhu was featured.”

“I think one of the enjoyable features of it was the integration of [Chinese and Western] cultures.”

“I have only seen pictures of those parts of China. But I could imagine the Tibetan piece and the Mongolian piece being out in the steppes of central Asia.”
