“I love learning about the Chinese history. I think that component and having that narrated before each scene for me, really enriched the whole experience … But then adding that, and understanding, kind of ancient, historical information that was really being given, it really has been incredible.”
“I think for me, that part is especially poignant, knowing what China is like today ... It really breaks my heart to know that this beautiful expression and spiritual celebration of life, our moral life, is so oppressed today in China. And so there is a component of it that resonates in a way that’s kind of a grief for me. So it is a painful beauty, knowing that they cannot express it in their home country.”
