“I’m familiar with some of the history of China, and I know it has gone through many periods of glory and some periods of strife and people have suffered, sometimes very much. But at the same time, it has endured for thousands of years. I’ve been there and I’ve seen some of the history, so to begin to see ... part of that ... in dance is a real treat.”
