LUBLIN, Poland—On the evening of Jan. 16, 2026, the Shen Yun Touring Company presented the first local performance of the year at the Opera Hall of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin, Poland. Tickets had long been sold out in advance.
The audience response that evening was extremely enthusiastic, with continuous applause throughout the theater. From the moment the curtain rose, the audience burst into strong applause. When the dancers displayed their superb skills, the applause surged like waves.
The Director of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin, Mr. Michał Chorosiński, attended the performance together with his wife, Dominika Chorosińska, a Member of the Polish Parliament, and their sons. Mr. Chorosiński was especially pleased that Shen Yun was able to perform in the Opera Hall of the centre. The entire family praised the performance.
“It was a beautiful, colorful performance—an extraordinary encounter with Chinese culture, as well as with the many different ethnic cultures of China,” said Mr. Chorosiński.
He was particularly pleased that, together with Shen Yun, he could take a journey through five thousand years of Chinese culture: “It was a fascinating journey through China—an opportunity to learn about new instruments and to see beautiful classical Chinese dance.”
He especially enjoyed the ancient Chinese instrument erhu: “Wonderful instruments, and that two-stringed one [the erhu] is outstanding—something truly marvelous.”

Ms. Chorosińska also did not spare praise for Shen Yun: “An incredible experience—beautiful costumes, such richness of color. Stunning dance by both women and men. I especially liked the peacock dance.” She added, “These saturated colors gave a feeling of such beauty and joy, like a heavenly world.”
Shen Yun is dedicated to reviving China’s civilization before communism. Shen Yun presents on stage traditional values such as reverence for the divine, belief in God, and the importance of virtue and kindness. Audiences can also witness breathtaking scenes in which heavenly beings descend to the human world together with the Creator, as well as the Creator’s compassionate salvation of humanity.
Mr. Chorosiński was impressed by the universal nature of ancient Chinese culture: “It is amazing how certain key aspects of humanity connect with one another. European culture is based on the Aristotelian triad: truth, goodness, and beauty. And somehow, it all comes together, it seems to me.” He added, “This is incredible—the universality of believing that there is something above us, someone greater—the Creator. That is beautiful.”
Ms. Chorosińska said: “What I really appreciated about this performance is that you are not afraid of difficult topics, of the truth, and that you speak openly about what the reality in China is like right now. It is an encounter with truthfulness, kindness, and patience—that is, with thousands of years of Chinese tradition and history combined with today’s reality. Yet there remains a light of hope.”
Mr. Chorosiński also emphasized the importance of preserving traditional values: “Without culture, without that core, without tradition, culture disappears, and identity disappears as well.”
Ms. Chorosińska did not hide her admiration for the depth of the performance: “It is beautiful that it is so profound. On the one hand, there is richness of color and beautiful music, but at the same time, it is a journey into the depths of the soul.”
