NEW YORK CITY—The David H. Koch Theater pulsed with excitement as the audience awaited the raising of the curtain at Shen Yun Performing Arts on April 11. Kip Bateman treated his wife to the performance as a birthday present.
“I encourage people to come see it because it was really a great experience. I’m so happy that my wife wanted to come here for her birthday. So it was great,” he said.
He liked seeing traditional Chinese culture on stage. “I thought it was outstanding,” he said. “I really did. It’s so important.
“It was so positive in this world right now. It’s great to see a beautiful performance, and to really show the history and the culture of China.”
“There’s a lot of sadness in this world, but there’s also a lot of greatness. We should never lose sight of our history, whether it’s China, Chinese history, or American history. It’s just so important. I’ve been to China; it was a beautiful country,” Mr. Bateman said.
“There’s a lot of beauty in this world and a lot of beauty in China. You can’t lose sight of that, even though these days are difficult. It’s nice to be able to see such a beautiful history of a beautiful country.”
