BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—On the evening of April 9, the opening performance of the Shen Yun International Company at Teatro Ópera in Buenos Aires, Argentina, drew a full house and an enthusiastic audience. Among those in attendance was Sonia Salvatierra, Vice President of Argentina’s National Securities Commission, as well as a board member, senior lawyer, and law firm partner.

After the performance, Ms. Salvatierra expressed deep appreciation for both the artistic and spiritual dimensions of the production. “I am very happy to be here at this event for the first time, appreciating this art and these values,” she said. “It’s an excellent combination that you just don’t see anywhere else. This is actually the first time I’ve had the opportunity to see a show like this.”

She added that she had long been aware of Shen Yun advertisements but had not fully understood what the performance entailed. “I didn’t know what it consisted of,” she said. “I’m leaving full of art and very beautiful emotions. I think I’m going to sleep better tonight than other days.”

Reflecting on the overall experience, Ms. Salvatierra described a profound sense of calm and inner expansion. “Two words come to mind: peace and fulfillment,” she said. “A sensation of expansion—spiritual expansion, precisely. Those are the feelings this work generated in me. Really a marvel.”

She also praised the performers’ precision and expressiveness. “The synchronization was impeccable—something I had never seen before in classical dance,” she said. “I was admiring the movement of the hands and feet. In two or three acts where the dancers represented animals or other things, seeing them perform and execute the choreography, they truly conveyed what they intended to convey.”

The Shen Yun Orchestra, she noted, was another standout element of the evening. “The live orchestra is a priceless addition—it completes the work,” she said. “The performers, the soprano, the piano—all of it was excellent.”

She added that the erhu performance left a particularly lasting impression. “I closed my eyes and imagined myself somewhere else, not here on Earth. It was truly moving.”

Reflecting on Shen Yun’s 20-year global journey, Ms. Salvatierra offered encouragement to its artistic director after learning that Shen Yun performs around the world each year, offering all-new choreography.

“I want to say: keep changing and keep evolving. If you create a new work every year to delight us, please continue—you do it extraordinarily well,” she said.

Finally, she wholeheartedly recommended the performance to others: “Come and see a work of art unlike anything you’ve ever seen.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive traditional Chinese culture. Since its founding in 2006, the company has presented an entirely new program each year, captivating audiences worldwide.
