WASHINGTON— Ms. Jennifer Brezovic felt that Shen Yun brought the Oriental world to America.

She was very impressed after watching Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company perform at the Kennedy Center Opera House on Jan. 25.

“I did travel in the Orient, but this is another level hidden behind the curtain I had not seen,” said Ms. Brezovic, who is a president and owner of a security consulting company.

When the curtain rises to a Shen Yun performance the audience sees a state-of-the-art digital backdrop, classical Chinese dance, exquisite costumes, soloists, and a unique East-West orchestra.

Ms. Brezovic felt the dynamics between the choreography and the digital backdrop were “astronomically great.”

“The digital projection infinitely expands and transforms the stage,” the Shen Yun website states.

Shen Yun’s costume artists recreate hundreds of new and colorful pieces each season. Ms. Brezovic said that the detail in the costumes helped bring to life what she had only seen in history books.

Ms. Brezovic liked the spiritual aspect of the show, especially in the song lyrics; she felt the singing was “presented with such feeling.”

“I did not realize the spiritual elements in China—through the dynasties—were so strong.”

“I would see it a second time,” she said.
