“Finally, I experienced it for myself today: Exposure to beautiful things can really heal the soul,” said Mr. Sasaki Taiichi, a temple abbot, after attending Shen Yun.
“The dances are outstanding. They are magnificent. I enjoyed them a lot,” he said. “The music is astounding. The Western instruments perfectly present the Chinese-style pieces.”
“I felt that saving from the last program,” he added.
Ms. IIto Reiko, a teacher of Guzheng—a traditional Chinese instrument—said that her body was bathed in a positive energy field during the entire show.
Ms. IIto said that Shen Yun brings a bright future to people, and that she hoped everybody could see Shen Yun.
“All Shen Yun music is very beautiful. The erhu (a two-stringed ancient Chinese instrument) was played very well,” she said. “The music accompanying the Tibetan dance, especially, was really, really brilliant. The tempo was very fast, and the dance and music coordinated without any tiny fault. I really admire the composers and artists!”
‘Very Invigorating’
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization through highly expressive art forms such as classical Chinese dance, original orchestral music performed live, soloists who sing in the bel canto tradition, animated digital backdrops, and more.“Shen Yun’s performance is very invigorating. It’s excellent. I felt a lot of energy. I felt being uplifted,” said Mr. Baku ZinZyu, executive of Sumitomo Electric Industries. “It really is extraordinary. I was very moved to see it.”
Mr. Baku said the performance was so beautiful and he wished he had more eyes with which to see more details of the show.
Mr. Noda Hiroshi, director of the business support department at Wakayama Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was impressed by Shen Yun’s dancers.
“The female dancers are elegant. Male dancers are valiant and majestic. Their beauty is printed into my mind,“ he said. ”I’m very touched. It’s amazing!”
“I guess the emperors in ancient times are like us today, they could watch this kind of dance. These beautiful dances really make people forget the time. The feeling is so wonderful!”
Will Shen Yun Perform in China?
Shen Yun revives the beauty and goodness of China before communism, which angers the Chinese Communist regime. Shen Yun cannot perform in China.“Shen Yun vividly presented the stories in front of me, it deeply touched my heart,” said Mr. Nishizono Chikara, a painter from Nara, Japan.
“I was shocked when I learned Shen Yun can’t go to China. But think about China’s political system, it’s a tough issue,” said Mr. Nishizono.
“I really hope Shen Yun Performing Arts can present all around Japan, all around the world. I more hope that Shen Yun can perform in China!” said Ms. Niwa Naoko, Wakayama City Councilor.
Ms. Niwa said that she is a Shen Yun fan and has attended Shen Yun in different cities in past years. She was happy to attend Shen Yun in Nishinomiya.
“Shen Yun Performing Arts delivers a message of peace,“ she said. ”It can make the whole world peaceful and warm.”
