LOS ANGELES—Shen Yun Performing Arts performed to a full house at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, The Music Center, on Saturday evening, Feb. 13. One of the audience members was multimedia artist Ms. Soliday, who said she appreciated the beauty of Shen Yun.

“It was beautiful. Beautiful colors, beautiful costume, beautiful music. Everything was great.”

“As an artist I can’t say anything negative about the show, because it’s beautiful. It’s put together well, really, really excellent.” Ms. Soliday does free forms, sculpting, and kinetic arts.

The New York-based Shen Yun tours with a live orchestra of traditional Chinese and Western instruments. Ms. Soliday felt this added to the experience. She said she felt peace. She liked the mixture of themes and topics in the show, “There’s some happy tunes, some travel, and ethnic dances. That was really good,” she said.

Ms. Soliday felt there was a spiritual message for all faiths. She said the message was good. She enthusiastically said she would recommend the show to her friends, “Actually, I’d buy my friends tickets to see this show!"

She named groups who she thought had to see Shen Yun: "It’s definitely a must if you are of Asian descent. It’s definitely also a must if you are an artist, and definitely a must if you enjoy learning about different cultures and heritage.”
