SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Shen Yun Performing Arts was greeted with a curtain call after its second and last show in Sacramento, California on Wednesday night, April 6.
Mortgage loan broker Bill Stone lauded Shen Yun, calling it an “organization of talent and spectacularism” after watching Shen Yun’s New York Company perform at the Sacramento Community Center Theater.
“It’s more than I expected,” he said of the performance, which presented classical Chinese dance with a unique blend of Western and Chinese music.
“The whole picture is a thing of beauty and activity and precision. It’s lovely,” Mr. Stone added, noting that the dancers’ “precision is extraordinary.”
Shen Yun dancers are charged with an almost impossible task: they must masterfully perform a slew of twists, turns, flips, jumps, and spins while being a part of an ensemble working as a whole.
Mr. Stone said he was attracted to the show due to the athleticism of the dancers portrayed in advertisements.
“I’m always intrigued by the people that can flip without touching the floor and that have great energy and capacity for endurance,” he said.
Mr. Stone also praised the costumes, which he called “extraordinary.”
“The movement of the costumes where they get the most out of the elaborateness of that. It’s exciting and colorful,” he said.
